CLASSIC COUNTRY..OK here's one for a true CLASSIC COUNTRY TRIVIA BUFF! Can you tell me the connection between.

these country artist-people?

MERLE HAGGARD..BUCK OWENS....BONNIE OWENS..AND FUZZY OWEN!CLASSIC COUNTRY..OK here's one for a true CLASSIC COUNTRY TRIVIA BUFF! Can you tell me the connection between.
Bonnie first got to know Alvis Edgar ';Buck'; Owens Jr. at the Mazona Roller Rink in Mesa, Ariz., in about 1945. ';He was a pretty good roller skater,'; said Bonnie, just 15 or so at the time. ';But I liked him because he played guitar.';

Bonnie was the wife to both of Bakersfield country legends Buck Owens and Merle Haggard,the two best-known instigators of a 20-year music phenomenon.She had a front-row seat for a wild, influential chapter in American music history.

Bonnie eventually recorded songs on the Mar-Vel label with sometime boyfriend Fuzzy Owen and his band, the Sun Valley Playboys. She later cut a well-received duet album with Owen on Lewis Talley's label. After Merle was released from San Quentin he was a guest on Cousin Herb's Trading Post and Bonnie introduced herself to Merle. Fuzzy, who by this time had become Haggard's manager, suggested that Bonnie and Merle re-cut ';Just Between the Two of Us,'; ';originally recorded by Bonnie and Fuzzy';, in 1964 they did just that. Merle,Bonnie,Fuzzy,Roy Nichols,Jerry Ward and Helen Price were the original members of Merle's band ';The Strangers';

In remembering those early days I feel the following should be included:

Johnny Barnett one of the early Bakersfield Sound Pioneers passed away Monday June 4, 2007. He was 89. Johnny was best known as the bandleader at the legendary Lucky Spot located on Edison Highway in Bakersfield. Many notable musicians such as Gene Moles, Cliff Crofford and Billy Mize honed their musical skills at that club. A young upstart by the name of Merle Haggard was given the oppurtunity by Johnny to perform at the Lucky Spot one night when Johnny finally succumbed to fatigue from two daytime jobs. Merle then became a regular performer at the Lucky Spot. Johnny was a fine singer and had recorded several records throughout his musical career. He was one of Bakersfield's best and will be dearly missed by all that had the priveledge to have known him.

Our prayers are with Johnny Jr.CLASSIC COUNTRY..OK here's one for a true CLASSIC COUNTRY TRIVIA BUFF! Can you tell me the connection between.

She married Buck Owens, had 2 sons and split up. They settled in Bakersfield. There, she worked as a waitress in a club she sang with Fuzzy Owen who introduced her to Merle Haggard (whom he wanted her to sing a duet with). They married in 1965 but then divorced in 1978.
Bonnie owens was married to Merle haggard, and to Buck Owens. Fuzzy owen was Merle's manager at one time.
